INDEPENDENT PRACTICE MODEL
Patients who have insurance are reimbursed directly by their insurance company for most medical care provided by Dr. Lawrence.   Check with your insurance company regarding your policy coverage.  Most insurance companies consider Alaska Family Doctor an independent out-of-network provider.

PAYMENT
Payment for services will be made by you directly to Alaska Family Doctor.  We will provide you with paperwork required by your insurance company for reimbursement from your insurance company.

MEDICARE
Dr. Lawrence has opted out of the Medicare program.  This means that Medicare will not reimburse you or AFD for any care you receive from Dr. Lawrence.  Dr. Lawrence is happy to see elders under personal contracts in which payment is made directly to AFD.   Elders may continue to use their Medicare plan for hospital services, medications, and routine out-of-office tests.

MEDICAID
Dr. Lawrence has not contracted with Denali Kid Care or Medicaid.  This means that Medicaid will not reimburse you or AFD for any care you receive from Dr. Lawrence.  Dr. Lawrence is happy to see patients on a private basis regardless of medicaid status.

HOUSE CALLS
Many insurance providers in Alaska cover house calls.  Please contact your insurance carrier for details regarding your plan.

ONLINE SERVICES
Very few insurance policies in Alaska cover online visits like ASK A DOCTOR consultations.  Medicare, Medicaid, and the Indian Health Service do not yet cover online services.  Check with your insurance company to find out what services are reimbursed under your current plan.
